The Attix5 backup Professional Server Edition (SE)

Server Edition is a JAVA client that installs as a system service on the server requiring backup.

SE supports Windows, various UNIX platforms, and Novell environments and provides a graphical, remote browser or command line interface to select the critical data on that server that requires protection.

Data is compressed and backed up to the remote Storage Platform according to a customizable schedule.

All communications are SSL over port 443.

SE uses a variety of filtering and compression techniques, including sub-file binary change extraction, to minimize the data transfer required for each backup to around 1% daily.

SE provides to option to choose between two very effective patching techniques to suit your requirements. It also includes support for locked file management to ensure completeness of backup.

API based backup support for open databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, Sybase, etc, as well as mail systems like MS Exchange or Lotus Domino, is provided for via a number of SE Plug-ins.
