The storage platform consists of two software components, the NameServer and FileServer, each running as a service on the same or multiple Windows 2000/2003 devices.

The NameServer provides user authentication and account management functionality and as such can be accessed remotely via either the Backup Console or an XML RPC that allows automated user management and billing system integration.

The FileServer is a modular data storage system that provides a scalable storage and archiving platform to store user data.

The FileServer includes functionality for remote mirroring as well as tape archiving.
